Modigliani was an Italian Jewish painter and sculpter who worked mostly in France during the late 19th century. He had a very distinct style of elongated necks and vacant eyes, and his work was not received very well during his lifetime. He died at age 35 of a drug overdose. Jeanne Hebuterne was his wife.
