French Impressionist painter, Claude Monet, painted this Symphony in Rose 1900 originally as an oil on canvas painting from the inspirations of his own backyard in Giverny, in northern France, around the turn of the 20th Century. Monet loved to capture the beauty of a given scene in many different shades of light reflecting different times of the day, this one being the rich green tones of a mid summer day at high noon.
