Monks in a Grotto (by Carl Blechen) Jigsaw Puzzle

This design features a painting by the German artist Carl Blechen (1798–1840), who was a member of the Romantic movement. It shows two monks in a cave beside a beach. The bright sun is streaming down in the sky outside the beach. One of the monks is stand up and the other monk is seated on a bench made of rock. They are both deep in contemplation and prayer, surrounded by the beautiful but desolute environment of the natural world.

This is a beautiful puzzle with just the right amount of difficult. I’m a puzzler and I really enjoyed doing this one. There were two pitfalls. One, is that the pieces fit together a little too loosely for my liking. Two, I got a puzzle where the edges of all the pieces were lifting at the edges, like it wasn’t cut with a sharp blade. I called Zazzle and they sent me out a new one immediately! Zazzle was awesome to work with! The picture was amazing!!
