The hamsa is one of the national symbols of Morocco, appearing in its emblem. It can be considered as the most popular of the different Moroccan amulets to ward off the evil eye. The use of this khemissa is very common in North African and Middle Eastern countries, but the meaning remains the same: it is a tool for protection against the evil eye. The importance of the khemissa, can be illustrated by the Moroccan saying " khamsa fi ainek "("five fingers in your eye") aimed at escaping the evil eye that causes bad things. the "Hand of Fatima" or "Hamsa" in Moroccan culture, which is a popular symbol known for its protective and spiritual significance. It's often used in jewellery, art, and decorations.
