Franco-German philosopher, musician and physician Albert Schweitzer (1875 - 1965) loved music and cats, as can be seen from this quote on our mug: 'There are two means of refuge from the misery of life - music and cats.' The great words are matched with an equally great painting by Japanese ukiyo-e artist Takahashi Shotei (1871-1944). Called 'Tama' (white cat), it features a beautifully serene and contented white cat with beautiful yellow eyes. The mug would be the perfect gift for cat owners, cat lovers, music fans and admirers of vintage Japanese cat art.
