This design features a painting by Edmund Blair Leighton (1852–1922), who was an English painter of historical scenes. It shows a man entering a grand building as a woman enters. She is dressed in fine clothes, including a long flowing dress and fashionable hat, and the man is admiring her appearance. There is clearly some romantic tension between the couple. They may be well known to each other and in the early stages of courtship, or the man may be simply be admiring the woman's beauty in a passing glance.
