N C Wyeth Western Painting “The Tomahawk” Postcard

NC Wyeth , was an American artist known for his realist paintings and illustrations of the old west. During his lifetime, Wyeth became one of America’s greatest illustrators and he created over 3,000 paintings and illustrations. His early trips to the old west inspired images of cowboys and Native Americans that dramatised the frontier. This painting is called “The Tomahawk” and depicts an Indian brave leaping forward to throw a tomahawk at a shadowy trooper standing guard as the night watch.
