The "glass cockpit" installed on the Space Shuttle in March 2000 with planet Earth visible through window. Eleven new full-colour, flat-panel display screens in the Shuttle cockpit replace 32 gauges and electromechanical displays and four cathode-ray tube displays and was installed on all shuttles in the NASA fleet in 2002.
