Read on for the story of how I came to paint this scene. I was standing on the historic river front of Natchitoches, Louisiana. The parade was about to start. If you've ever seen the quaint, storybook setting of Natchitoches, you can understand the magical, festive atmosphere. The original is oil on canvas.
