Isn’t this young bride beautiful? She was photographed around the year 1910 by Edward S. Curtis. She is wearing a buckskin dress stunningly ornamented with beads and shells. Her beaded headdress is also decorated with coins, and her earrings are made of shells and beads. Edward S. Curtis was an extraordinary photographer who documented for more than 20 years, in his words, “the old time Indian, his dress, his ceremonies, his life and manners.”
