I painted this piece while feeling in a particularly whimsical mood. I wanted to paint something magical, and what is more magical than a night-time scene of stars, a weeping willow, and little bugs that glow in the dark? The text inside is a romantic scripture from the bible's Song of Solomon: "Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away. If one were to give all the wealth of one's house for love, it would be utterly scorned." Song of Solomon 8:7
