Nighthawks 1942 by Edward Hopper Hip Flask
Edward Hopper said that Nighthawks was inspired by “a restaurant on New York’s Greenwich Avenue where two streets meet,” but the image—with its carefully constructed composition and lack of narrative—has a timeless, universal quality that transcends its particular locale. One of the best-known images of twentieth-century art, the painting depicts an all-night diner in which three customers, all lost in their own thoughts, have congregated. Hopper’s understanding of the expressive possibilities of light playing on simplified shapes gives the painting its beauty. Fluorescent lights had just come into use in the early 1940s, and the all-night diner emits an eerie glow, like a beacon on the dark street corner.

The product is a good size and came exactly as it was pictured. The lid is not attached to the flask, which could be dangerous on drunken nights... The print came out surprisingly well and looks very sharp. Would definitely recommend.

I bought this for a friend, in memory of her father. It arrived today. I was really worried about how it would turn out - it was an edited photo on metal. I couldn’t be happier!
It was late getting to me, but in tracking the item, the fault was that of the local post office, not Zazzle. It went out on time, seemed to travel in a timely fashion, but when it arrived here, it just sat for 3-4 days with no activity. I was afraid it would be “washed out,” but the photo on metal was perfect.
