Nurseryfish Poster
It is a member of the Nurseryfishes family and is native to central southern New Guinea and northern Australia. It inhabits mangrove-nipa swamps, brackish estuaries and slow-flowing turbid rivers. It feeds on small fishes, shrimps and crayfish. The male carries the eggs around like a bunch of grapes attached to a hook on the head, called forehead brooding. It can reach a maximum length of 63 cm (24.8 inches).
