The ocean view from the Rim of the World Highway in the San Bernardino Mountains. In this photograph the sun is glistening off the Pacific Ocean, which is about a hundred miles away from the vantage point of Highway 18. State Route 18 is the major thoroughfare from the city of San Bernardino to the mountain communities of Crestline, Lake Arrowhead, Running Springs, and Big Bear. The elevation of about 4,000 feet where this photo was taken makes is possible to see the ocean on a clear day.
