Our lovingly restored and retouched vintage World War 2 poster features the famous Of Course I Can perfect American housewife doing her bit on the home front for the war effort as she cans every vegetable and fruit in sight! Created in 1944 by artist Dick Williams for the United States Department of Agriculture War Food Administration, the painting shows a gorgeous woman in her kitchen with a very surprized expression on her face as she holds three large glass vegetable jars in her arms, with three more tasty looking jars underneath. Beets, greens, tomatoes, she’s canned them all! Our blue eyed housewife is wearing a frilly apron decorated with flowers to reinforce her housewifely status. Underneath the caption “Of course I can!” are the words “I’m as patriotic as can be and ration points won’t worry me!”
