About This Design

Orchid Elegance Poster

Orchid Elegance Poster

Orchid Elegance is a painting in traditional Chinese free style (Xie Yi) technique with ink on rice paper. The orchid used to represent good taste and beauty in Chinese traditional culture. They symbolize elegance, nobility and self-respect. They also belongs to the "Four Gentlemen of Chinese Painting" - the plum blossom, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum and represent one of the four seasons! Artists are using the same techniques as in calligraphy, therefor the image is not really painted but rather written. In China the calligraphy always belong to the painting. It’s like the signature from the artist. This one is without the original calligraphy! You can also buy it with the calligraphy! Check out my gallery.

I originally ordered this print in a larger size but was not pleased with the clarity of it. When I contacted Zazzle, they responded really quickly and were very helpful. I was able to reorder the print in a smaller size and it was shipped to me within a couple of weeks. The print was packaged well to ensure there was no damage during transit (Eco friendly, too!), and I am really pleased with it. I am so grateful to the customer service team for the professional way they handled my order. I had this printed on matt finish card and I was really pleased with the quality. The colours were rich and the image sharp.
