The Painted Bunting is "THE FAVORITE" bird of many North American birders and birdwatchers. The male is vibrant blue, red green and yellow-green. The female, known as "greenie", is green on the upperparts and yellow-green on the underparts. Beautifully painted by French artist and birder, John James Audubon.
