    Eu Haere ia oe (Woman Holding a Fruit / Where Are You Going?), painted by Paul Gauguin in 1893 during his first stay in Tahiti, shows a Tahitian woman holding a large green fruit in a tropical garden, with seated women and a thatched dwelling behind her. The Tahitian title means 'Where are you going?', and the fruit is the symbolic centre of the composition.
