    The Green Sail (La Voile verte (Venise)), painted by Paul Signac in 1904, shows boats on the Venetian lagoon around a vivid green sail. Large, mosaic-like touches of colour dissolve water, vessels and sky into a luminous maritime scene while retaining the calm structure of the harbour. This oil on canvas is held by the Musée d'Orsay.
