This is a digitally enhanced print of an antique Victorian era 1883 Japanese woodblock print of a pair of peacocks or peafowl on a blossoming Hall crabapple tree by Kōno Bairei (「楳嶺花鳥画譜」より『春 三 海棠・孔雀』、大判錦絵 ). Kōno was a member of the Ukiyo-e school and was a master of kacho-e painting (depictions of birds and flowers) in the Meiji period of Japan.
