This commemorative card features a large scale reproduction of an original panoramic photograph of the Pentagon Barracks in Baton Rouge, LA, next to the state capitol. The area around the Barracks was the site of a series of military forts for over 100 years, was a battleground during the American Revolution and the Civil War, and was the first location of Louisiana State University. This photograph was taken in 1909, when the site belonged to Louisiana State University.
