Jose Carlos was a multi-talented artist who’s dazzling Art Deco illustrations graced the pages of Brazilian jazz and art periodicals during the 1920’s. His work was reminiscent of Aubrey Beardsley with a sharp modern edge and comic undertones. This image of a starlet wearing a glittering peplum costume was the December 1926 cover of a popular magazine.
