From the largest and most comprehensive cartographic collection in the world, Zazzle brings you this commemorative card featuring a panoramic view of the city of Peshtigo, Wisconsin was originally produced by T. M. Fowler in 1871. The map was drawn just weeks before the great fire that engulfed Peshtigo on Oct. 8, 1871. The loss of life was more than 800 - the largest number of people ever killed by fire in the annals of the US. The devastating fire was largely overshadowed in the news by the Chicago fire which amazingly occured within hours of the Peshtigo fire.
