Picture Perfect Poodle Postcard

The poodle is believed to have originated in Germany, where it was known as the Pudelhund, or Pudel. The breed was standardised in France, where the dog was commonly used as a water retriever, and later became popular in Spain as well. Poodles have either a solid-coloured or “parti-coloured” coat. Some poodles have markings that resemble those of a tuxedo, and for that reason, are called "tuxedo" poodles. Although you can't see it in the painting, I'm sure this Picture Perfect Poodle has party clothes or a tuxedo in the closet. Why, after all, with all this wonderful colour, it’s certain to be a "party" poodle.
