Pierre-Auguste Renoir - Roses Large Clock
Roses, around 1912 - Pierre-Auguste Renoir, oil on canvas. Pierre-Auguste Renoir (Limoges, 1841 - Cagnes-sur-Mer, 1919) was a French Impressionist painter. Renoir continued to paint flowers frequently during his late years in the south of France. He valued such subjects because they let him experiment with colour without the demands of portrait likeness or narrative. The treatment is typical of his late style, when warm colour and rounded forms became increasingly important.
