Pink and Orange I Heart Queer Love Baby Bodysuit

One of my favourite things about babies is that love, curiosity and joy are the first languages they naturally speak. They understand how to accept and love people around them until adults teach them otherwise. There are so many ways to nurture kindness, love, community, and acceptance and shape the world around them to foster those values. When they grow up being exposed to a myriad of different kinds of peoples, genders, colours, bodies, communities, cultures, languages --that is normal for them. And even kids without as much of a multicultural exposure still generally trend towards understanding that everyone uses different pronouns or looks different or expresses gender differently. Often as an ECE teacher, I hear that a big concern is that young kids will be confused by queer /disabled/multicultural/poly families, communities and people. The children I've taught were all much more concerned about what we're having for snack time than over the genders of which kids painted their nails or played dress up that day. When we share our queer love and joy with our kids and teach them young that they are surrounded by our love, they grow up with the confidence to step into whomever they discover themselves to be, and the confidence to show up for their friends and loved ones who may be discovering their own queerness.
