Pink Orchid and Three Hummingbirds note card. Oil on mahogany panel from 1871. Martin Johnson Heade was an American landscape and naturalist painter who frequently depicted birds and flowers. Orchids and hummingbirds were some of his favourite subjects, and this painting stands as one of his most beautiful. Cattleya Orchid and Three Humingbirds depicts a Cattleya orchid surrounded by two Brazilian amethysts hummingbirds and a red-tailed Sappho Comet hummingbird in the midst of a jungle at sunset. We downloaded several photos which was simple and produced a very attractive personalised card for our 11yr old Granddaughter.
I was concerned that the card would not arrive on time but Zazzle came up trumps and the card arrived on the day before her birthday - perfect! I didn't see the card as it went straight to our family in New Zealand. However they did send a photo and it looked excellent!
