Although it's been around in Britain since the 1950s and the US since the 60's, Pop Art is always fresh, often funny, colourful and bold, drawing inspiration from such themes or media as video, photography, graphic effects, factories and manufacturing, industry, commercialism and repitition. It is based on the popular culture of the people rather than that decreed by rich upper classes.
