Postcard of Songgwangsa, South Korea

The name Songgwangsa means Spreading Pine Temple. Built in Suncheon, Jeollanam-do, it was founded in 867 CE. The temple complex is surrounded by the beautiful soft hills of the Southern tip of the Korean Peninsula. The ancient buildings are reflected in the calm water. A small bridge that crosses the moat around one of the structures hints at the adventure you will have when you visit, whether in person or in your imagination. Massive beige and grey stones, bright red and yellow, and natural greens create the fresh landscape.
