Poster/Print: Master of the Hounds Poster

This magnificent vintage painting, entitled "Negro Master of the Hounds," was made by the French orientalist painter Jean-Leon Gerome (1824 - 1904). Throughout the 1850s, Gerome made several trips to the East. ~ His travels included Turkey, Egypt and other areas in Northern Africa. His love for this part of the world is apparent in his Orientalist paintings, including this masterpiece depicting a dog handler surrounded by his dogs in a North African landscape.
