This postcard features the Old Town Hall tower and Gothic chapel in Prague’s historic centre, seen in quiet early-morning light. The town-hall tower was added in 1364 and its projecting Gothic chapel followed in 1381 with craftsmen connected to the Parler workshop. The famous astronomical clock was installed on the complex in 1410, layering mediaeval civic architecture, science and public ritual onto the same landmark.
