Then you recite the name of a shape or colour and have your child point it out on the chart puzzle. Use the chart to spot shapes and colours in the surrounding area – for example, the colour of your clothes, the colour of your hair, the colour of a chair. Point to a colour on the chart and ask your child “This circle is red. What are some other things that are red?” Get them started by offering “A tomato is red. Roses are red. Strawberries are red. ” and so on. "The box is square. What are some other things that are square?" Do this for each shape and colour.
