Preservation Hall, New Orleans T-Shirt

Stepping into Preservation Hall is like stepping back in time. We decided to take one last walk through the city before leaving the next morning. On a whim we decided to head to Preservation Hall, a New Orleans institution. You can't buy tickets to Preservation Hall, and it's cash only at the door...I think it cost us $12 each to get in. Once inside, you quickly realise you've stepped back in time at least a century. It looks as though nothing has been touched in at least that long. It is an incredibly small space, with only a few benches, or you can sit on the floor. I chose the floor, front and centre, in front of the band, my toes literally not more than two inches from the older gentleman seated in front of me playing the clarinet. Apparently, we hit the lottery that night. The Preservation Hall band is normally on tour around the world. This night, they were home, and we were there to see them. It was otherworldly. One of those life experiences you carry with you forever. This photo was taken of the courtyard as you walked in.
