She had to write “Gone With The Wind”. pencil and ink drawing inspired by Margaret Mitchell author of “Gone With The Wind” Margaret Mitchell’s mother was an Irish suffragette and Margaret defied the conventions of her class and times by taking a job at the Atlanta Journal. Under the name Peggy Mitchell she wrote a weekly column for the newspaper’s Sunday edition, thereby making her mark as one of the first female columnists at the South’s largest newspaper. It is thought that she modelled Ashely Wilkes on her distant cousin Doc Holliday.
