This is an adaptation of Henri Rousseau's 1909 painting "Mandrill in the Jungle." The original artwork is a small oil on canvas,19 x 24 cm (about 7.5"x9.5"), and it is in a private collection. Henri Rousseau (1844-1910) was an important French Post-Impressionist painter in the Naive or Primitive manner. He was self-taught and often painted from his imagination. His paintings of exotic jungle scenes are some of his most famous paintings. Interestingly enough, he never left France. He said that all that he learned came from nature. ~ We suggest the semi-gloss paper or better for beautiful colour and for a quality print that will last for years.
