Two days before the start of U.S. Prohibition, The World Prohibition Enforcement Campaign tries to capitalise on the ban by exporting it throughout the world by placing full-page ads in Newspapers. This one in the Chattanooga News. On 16 January 1920, the 18th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution prohibiting the "manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors for beverage purposes" went into effect.
