Ps 46:10 Be Still and Know Hummingbird T-Shirt

The hummingbird is one of God's most beautiful but tiny creatures! They symbolise intelligence, beauty, devotion and love. They are known as fierce fighters and loyal defenders of their territory. The smallest ones, when they hover, have been clocked at 80 beats (wing-flaps) per SECOND. It takes immense energy for them to seemingly sit still in the air -- but they do it with grace and beauty. This Psalm, "Be still, and know that I am God" (Ps 46:10) makes me think of them -- sometimes we, too, are moving "a million miles an hour", caught up in the busy-ness of our lives, and it takes tremendous effort to "be still" -- but this is the alert, active "stillness" that God asks for.
