Purple & Orange Pansies w Green Floral Photo 06 Leggings

One afternoon I was leaving my friend's house and happened to have a camera with me. (One that wasn't attached to my phone.) She'd spent some time that morning doing some seasonal planting to spruce up her home and garden and as I walked out on the porch, the new bouquets caught my eye. "Caught" is too mild. Grabbed my eye is more like it... and wouldn't let go. I pulled out my camera and must have shot 150 photos of these purple, orange and yellow pansies. I stayed there so long the light started to move and with each shot and new angle, as that light shifted, I had to have more. It was as if each new point-of-view was the first I'd had and I was afraid of missing something. I couldn't have missed a single petal that day, given the numbers of pictures I captured with my lens./// And then? I left and didn't think another thing about them. It's not a new story. I HAVE to get the shot Right This Minute, and then something else pretty captures my attention and I move on and on and always on to the sliver of beauty that is always before me. /// Lately, having designed such a lot of leggings, it suddenly occurred to me that it would be fun to do something brand new. (Take a look at my store's "leggings" offerings and you'll see what I mean. This is a seriously different twist for me.) So: this photo. The purple flower with its gorgeous yellow eye is front-and-(not quite)centre on the right knee area and its lighter petals flutter out over the left leg. Around it - top left hip and the back, as well - the yellowish-orange friends complement its focal point. Like the golden petals, the leaves fall out of focus: all as a complement to the purple face that is prominently featured in the shot./// The image was intentionally close-up and the purple pansy was the part I intentionally kept in focus. The results on the leggings is fairly abstract and wonky and the artsy, funky, atypical lines thrill and delight me. Perhaps you'll love it too! I think I'll add a few more, so if you're into options, keep an eye out for the others in the series. I've picked out at least 4 shots in the series that I think will work.
