Skulls, oddities, bizzare and strange Strange creatures of all sorts fill Quarles' Emblems. We think of the skeletons, snakes, angels and monsters as "gothic". Refining these engraved prints has been a labour of love. Now, I've arranged them into this stunning and strange calendar. This book was originally published in 1635. These ornate, grotesque illustrations were engraved by William Marshall & others.
