New Orleans embodies the very essence of life. It was, after all, the birthplace of gumbo, jazz and an entire slew of interesting folks. Tirelessly, it has given birth to inspiration for many an artist - painters, musicians and writers alike. I was lucky enough to have been one such artist inspired by the city. Its offerings of live music around literally every corner became almost overwhelming in its splendour. Most of the musicians performed without hustle or holler for money. They just played because it's what they did. The same as fish swam or birds flew. Just part of their nature. And part of the reason why New Orleans is so great.
