RDG railroad early diesel loco Keychain
This is a drawing of an early diesel electric locomotive. It was built by the American locomotive company for the Philadelphia and reading Railroad about 1930. Steam locomotives we're still in Daly operations, and this was considered and experiment and using electric motors to power a locomotive. It used no coal and ran on diesel oil or fuel.
I believe it was tested as a switching locomotive and did not pull trains out on the main lines of the railroad.
