Reeves Pheasant Tail

Molted feather from a companion bird, raised from an egg. Collected, washed in protective soap and laid out by hand to dry in a breezeless room. I photograph the plume with a Nikor macro lens and massaged it in PhotoShop to show all its natural perfection. From Lewis Mark Grimes "Feather Rishi Collection."

Using molted feathers is a brilliant idea because it conserves avian wildlife while recycling. The time has come to protect birds from extinction and I am doing my part as designer behind BeFeathered. The pattern you see here is a blanket designed with the Reeves feather.
