Sherwin & Cotton tiles were manufactured in Staffordshire, England from 1877 to 1911. They had a well-deserved reputation as one of the finest producers of decorative tiles in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This tile, featuring a wild rose hand colored with rose, green, and gold glazes on sepia transferware, was made in the 1880s.
