Ride One Elephant Hurt Many T-Shirt

This grunge-style, elephant riding, protest shirt was designed by Nola Lee Kelsey, an expat living in SE Asia. Unbeknownst to many tourist their spending harms these great animals. Babies are illegally taken from the forest, then starved and tortured for weeks to break their will to fight, setting elephant up for a lifetime of servitude to tourists. They often work over 100 hours per week, living chained for over 60 years to amuse us for our quick little photo op. When the wild babies are stolen other members of matriarchal herds are often killed. Illegal paperwork is then forged, thus the tourism dollars supports the governmental corruption and criminal organisations that make this possible. This also finances a myriad of other illegal wildlife activities, most often geared towards travelers, export of animal parts or trade in endangered species. Think before you spend!
