Riding Mountain National Park is a massive protected area in southwestern Manitoba, Canada. Founded in 1933, the park covers 2,969 square kilometres of varied landscapes, from boreal forest to aspen parkland and fescue prairie, all situated on the Manitoba Escarpment. It is a vital haven for wildlife, home to significant populations of black bears, moose, elk, wolves, and a managed herd of plains bison. The park's centre is the vibrant resort community of Wasagaming, located on the shores of the large, crystal-clear Clear Lake.
