A Native American Indian tribe with horses and teepees are in the valley near the waterfall and lake. Lander's Peak in the Wyoming Range of the Rocky Mountains. The peak was named after Frederick W. Lander.
About the artist:
Albert Bierstadt (1830-1902) was a German-American painter best known for his lush, sweeping landscapes of the American West. Bierstadt joined several journeys of the Westward Expansion. He was part of the Hudson River School whose style involved carefully detailed paintings with romantic, almost glowing lighting, sometimes called luminism.
