It was reused in the Middle Age, put in the center of the Cross of Lothar, in the 10th century. Recommended as a gift for a lover of ancient Rome or someone named Augustus or Octavian. The hours are indicated by golden roman numerals, inside a black circle with golden border around the cameo..
