About This Design
Roscoe, Snyder and Pacific Coffee Mug
The Roscoe, Snyder and Pacific Railway is a very small railroad based in Roscoe, Texas, just west of Sweetwater, where it connects with the Union Pacific. When first constructed, the railroad ran from a connection with the Texas and Pacific Railroad at Roscoe north through Snyder and then westward to interchange with the Santa Fe at Fluvanna, a distance of about 32 miles (51 km). The tracks between Snyder and Fluvanna were abandoned in 1941, and finally the railroad abandoned the tracks from a point just a few miles north of Roscoe to Snyder in 1984. The remaining tracks serve a railroad car rebuilding facility alongside U.S. Route 84 about two miles (3 km) north of Interstate 20, plus about two miles (3 km) of the old tracks extending northward towards Snyder which are used for storage of rail cars awaiting repair.
