This design was created with reference to 'Heian Monkan'. / Kakuji are characters enclosed in a square. They were often used for trademarks and banner markings, and were the most frequently used of the Edo period characters (from 'Manji no Maryoku, Tomoe no Juryoku' by Azuma Tsumio).
