[Marusumitaitetsu] Izutsu-mon/I-shaped wooden framing with a well-shaped structure surrounding the ground of the well was called Izokita, and circular wooden framing was called Izutsu. However, in the case of monsho, the square ones were called izutsu and the rhombus ones were called igeta. Since ancient times, the place where water springs to heal the thirst and to live is the place where spirits reside and where gods are enshrined. The pattern may have been used on the basis of such religious significance. The family crest of the Ii clan, which is seen in "Kenmon Shokamon" (Family Crest), is the I family crest, and in the case of the Ii family, it may have been changed to Izutsu-mon.
